Opportunities for Cheshire makers
  • Rich diversity across Cheshire

Many business owners are aware that there is potential to improve the way they produce things by adopting new technologies however the barrier to adopting them can often come down to making an informed choice. The independent and impartial advice from specialist advisers in the Made Smarter team is designed to help guide business owners to the right solution and is fully funded as part of the programme.

The diversity of manufacturing business across Cheshire is largely a reflection of its geography, moving rapidly from industrial to rural environments, each with their own demands and supply chain needs. During its 2 years until 2021, the Made Smarter programme aims to reach many more manufacturing and engineering business to talk about the support that is available to them.

To help businesses on their digital journeys the Made Smarter programme also offers the opportunity to join its dedicated Leadership Programme – an 8-month programme designed to help businesses to plan for a sustainable future by adopting the most appropriate technologies and develop their teams through education.

Cheshire companies already benefitting from the Leadership Programme include Technoprint Cheshire based in Winsford and Abbey England based in Knutsford.

  • The wider support on offer

There is also the option of gaining further support through fully funded Digital Internship Placements, Workforce Development, Digital Skills and Digital Transformation Workshops.

In the North West of England, we are fortunate to be trailblazing this pioneering 2-year pilot programme so if you haven’t already done so, please register your interest to learn more and I’ll be happy to arrange a visit.
